New to yoga, or looking to get back to the basics? Yoga Roots provides both the beginning students and the seasoned practitioner a place to focus on common postures and transitions, that lay the foundation for Hatha/Vinyasa yoga. Classes will focus on alignment and will include strength building poses. Expect clear instruction and individual assistance. You don't need to be able to touch your toes in this class - all you need is an open mind and heart.

In this Vinyasa-style class, students explore their personal and physical edge - as well as self-awareness and intention - by cultivating core stability through complex poses and their variations in sequences that invite precision and mindfulness. Yogis stretch and strengthen muscles while energizing the body and stimulating the mind. Level 2-3, yoga experience required.

 

Empowerment Vinyasa

Saturdays, 8:30-9:45am, 4-week series, $66. All levels.

Saturdays, 10-11:15am, 4-week series, $66. All levels. This class is a drop-in class, make-up class for Roscha's monthly series, and a series package as well. If you plan on dropping in please check with Roscha for availability.

An all levels Vinyasa class will leave you feeling strong and empowered in mind, body and spirit. An uplifting theme will be infused into this energizing class. You will build heat as you flow breath to movement. This class includes sun salutations, core strengthening, balancing, and inversion postures. Modifications and variations will be cued so students of all levels have the opportunity to explore their edge.

 
 

Meditation

Wednesdays , 7:15pm, $14 drop-in classes/$36 3-week series. All levels.

Meditation package available at no extra cost with preceding yoga package.

Meditation reduces, stress, blood pressure and anxiety. It can restore your sense of ease and harmonize your internal emotional and intellectual psychology, bringing a sense of peace, clarity and wellbeing. Learn simple anchoring techniques to restore the body, mind, and spirit back to balance.

 

Yin Yoga

Tuesdays, 5:30-6:45pm, $15/class, once a month through the summer. Pre-registration required. Appropriate for all levels.

Ever hear the word Yin and wonder what it exactly it means? Yin is the feminine, dark, passive, receptive, reflective, withdrawn, cool, introspective aspects of life. Yin yoga was developed to penetrate deep into connective tissue expanding flexibility while invigorating the meridians in the body to release blockages and increase your energy flow.

Focusing on static movement, breath work (Pranayama) and meditation to create a profoundly deep and rewarding practice.

The primary differences between Yin Yoga and many other forms of yoga is that you are encouraged to NOT use your muscles and passive poses are held for several minutes.

 

Hatha Yoga

Wednesdays, 6-7pm, $16.50 drop-in classes/$49.50 series. All levels. Pre-registration required by the Tuesday before to drop-in.

The practice of Shambhava Yoga Asana begins with a strong foundation in body awareness and alignment, then moves deeper, allowing you to explore your own personal experience of yoga through inner focus and surrender. Creative hatha and vinyasa approaches make this practice available for beginning through advanced level classes.

Shambhava Yoga Asana is taught from the heart, not the head. Teachers respond to the energy of the class through intuition, intelligent sequencing, and depth of practice.

 

Slow Flow

Dori Series

 

Tuesdays at 5:30. 5:30-6:45.  This class will be a combination of Vinyasa Flow and slow, deep holds.  

All levels are welcome.  This is a 4 week package with participants choosing which 4 Tuesdays out of the 5 possibilities work for them.  The 4 Tuesday package is $66.  If participants choose to add a 5th Tuesday, they would get that fifth class at a reduced rate of $13.50.
