Having a clearer vision of the complex anatomy of yoga poses will naturally lead you into a more efficient practice. If you know potential areas of tension or inhibition, you can transform those areas and open yourself up to faster progression in your yoga practice. We will explore several poses, including standing, seated, balance, backbend and inversion poses. Dr. Wakefield will present this material in a manner that is easy to understand, to remember, and to put into your practice immediately.

Dr. Wakefield will review in detail some of the most common conditions or injuries, as well as some less frequent but important ones. She will outline modifications and adverse poses related to each. We will discuss common spinal conditions, extremity injuries and heart disease as it relates to individual poses. You will gain insight and confidence in dealing with these conditions, whether in your own practice or instructing the general population.
